Discover The Amazing Secrets Of Launching A Highly Successful Career In The Nigerian Movie Industry... Even If You're Shy, Think You're Not Talented, And Have No Big connections
Dear Actor,

If you’ve ever desired to launch your acting career and see your face on the Nollywood big screen…
I’m about to show the exact blueprint I used to go from a regular UNILAG insurance undergraduate to one of the most sought-after and celebrated Nollywood actors working today.
I’ve been in this industry long enough to know exactly what works and what doesn’t.
You have probably heard all sorts of things about breaking into acting, that you need to know the “right people,” that you must have studied theatre arts, or that you have to compromise your values to get roles.
These are all lies, by the way.
Because if any of them were true, I wouldn’t be here today.
When I started, I had no acting degree and no fame
What I had was the willingness to learn, the discipline to work hard, even when no one knew my name.
In 2005, I was in my second year at UNILAG studying insurance when a friend asked me to be in a two-man Christmas play at church.
I wasn’t paid a kobo, but I loved it. The feeling, the process, and I knew this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
I was not studying anything close to performing arts, but instead of giving up and saying that I am not cut out for this, I went deep into research.
I made a list of actors I admired, the likes of Meryl Streep, Viola Davis, Taiwo Ajai-Lycett, Joke Silva, Kate Henshaw, Ireti Doyle, Bimbo Akintola and noticed that they all had theatre experience.
So I threw myself into stage work, I volunteered anywhere I could, sometimes even spending my own pocket money on costumes and transport.
I deliberately stayed away from camera auditions at first because I knew the stage would train me harder than any film set could.
And it ultimately paid off. By 2007, I was juggling auditions at Terra Kulture with my final year in school.
My parents wanted me to graduate with a 2.1, and I did, but I also earned my first major stage role in Wole Oguntokun’s play that summer.
In 2008, I was cast in the ‘V Monologues,’ working alongside actors I once only admired from a distance.
And since then...
I’ve worked with Marvel Studios, HBO, Amazon, Ndani TV, Netflix, produced critically acclaimed theatre productions, and mentored the next generation of actors who are now building their own successful careers.

I believe that we all need some help on our journey towards success, and that is why I try to help serious-minded individuals and action takers with their acting career.
So, I would like to ask you at this point:
Are you somebody who seizes opportunities and takes action?
If your response to the above question is “NO”, you can stop reading here because the remaining part of this page is for people who are ready to take their acting career more seriously.
But if you answered “YES”, I’d like to congratulate you in advance because you have taken the first step towards unimaginable success, and the following testimonials from my mentees is a guarantee that your dreams are valid.
Before you continue any further, hear what some actors have to say about me…

Genoveva Umeh
Without Lala Akindoju, I wouldn’t know how to navigate the Nollywood industry as an actor.
She offered me the opportunity to work as the associate producer of her play ‘The Wives’ where I got to work with established actors and crew members.
These relationships have gotten me work opportunities.
For example, Ireti Doyle recommended me for an audition, director Akinola Davis cast me in a short film for the BBC, and I’ve also gone on to write, perform, and tour countries with my one-woman play ‘Home‘ .
I would not have achieved these if not for Lala Akindoju’s guidance and mentorship. I’m confident of a consistent and sustainable career, thanks to her.

Oludara Egerton-Shyngle
I’ve seen immense growth in my career in this time, and I’m content with where I am, and super excited for what is to come, even as I take what I’ve learnt and continue to learn from Lala.”
“I moved back to Nigeria after acting school in February 2016 with zero knowledge of how the industry in Nigeria worked.
I had assumed that my studying acting was all I needed. Lol!
I was very wrong. I met Lala a couple of times, but our “relationship” started in 2017, after a few people had told both of us that we needed to meet, and I’m super thankful for every one of those people.
Lala forces you to grow; she pushes and pushes and pushes until you have no choice but to grow. One of the most important things I learnt from Lala is the “business of acting”.
I know that acting and growing in the industry doesn’t happen by going with the flow but by being intentional about everything- networking, social media, interactions on set.
I also remember her “forcing” me to do more theatre work- even though I told her it wasn’t my strong point or forte. She said to do it anyway because no actor should limit themselves to one form of the job.
She has also shown me that I can do a lot more than acting, that there are other spaces that need to be filled according to my strengths. In my 4 short years in the industry, I’ve learnt how to position myself to be visible so I get called for auditions.
I’ve been hired on large productions (Ghost and the House of Truth, Lara and the Beat, Tatu, amongst others), I’ve been a lead in a stage play, and been a part of an ensemble with members of the cast I could only have dreamed of.
I’ve been an associate producer, a casting associate, and a reader at auditions
